  3. Now, type the below-given command in the Command box to stops the Windows Update Services and then press the Enter key after each of them:
  • net stop wuauserv
  • net stop cryptSvc
  • net stop bits
  • net stop msiserver
  1. Again, type the given command to renames the SoftwareDistribution Folder and then press the Enter key:
  • ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
  • ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
  1. Lastly, type the following command to start Windows Update Services and click on the Enter key one by one:
  • net start wuauserv
  • net start cryptSvc
  • net start bits
  • net start msiserver
  1. Finally, restart your computer system to save all the changes.
